Correspondence, speeches, scrapbook, clippings, printed matter, and a volume of eulogies delivered in Congress after Lewis' death. The papers relate to Lewis' career as senator from Illinois and as delegate or attacheĢ at various international conferences and commissions. Some papers deal with Lewis' international law practice, some with domestic cases including the charges of improper conduct on the bench brought against Judge Otto Kerner of Chicago, and some with the University of Virginia, of which Lewis was an alumnus.
